A Global Hip-Hop Journey and Holistic Healing
Ezgilu is an internationally renowned dancer, choreographer, and holistic healing advocate, specializing in a wide range of dance styles. For over 15 years, she has been blending her dance skills with her healing practices, helping individuals heal through movement and find their inner balance. Her work continues to inspire and transform lives globally.
The First Steps into Hip-Hop Culture
Ezgilu’s journey into the world of hip-hop began at the age of 12 when she started graffiti. It was in a graffiti shop in Izmir that she met a mentor who taught her breaking, sparking her deep connection to the culture. As she learned breaking from local b-boys, she dove into hip-hop dance and culture, dedicating her life to it. For Ezgilu, hip-hop became more than an art form—it became a way of life, opening doors to unexpected experiences and opportunities.
Education and Advanced Training
Ezgilu’s dance education is rooted in prestigious schools around the world. She trained at Broadway Dance Center (New York, full scholarship) and Millennium (Los Angeles), where she explored both the technical and artistic aspects of dance. Additionally, she worked as a movement researcher at Sejong University in Seoul, South Korea. Through her studies, Ezgilu gained a deep understanding of various cultural dance forms, combining her academic knowledge and performance experience to become a globally recognized dancer.
Art and Performance
Ezgilu has performed in numerous high-profile projects with top artists such as Meghan Thee Stallion, Ezhel, Ding Dong Ravers, Earthgang, Million Stylez, Mr. Vegas, Atiye, Güneş, and Çakal. In 2024, she toured with Peter Fox and the M.I.K. Family across Europe. The M.I.K. Family is a prominent collective representing Krump and Hip-Hop dance culture globally, with millions of followers on TikTok. Ezgilu has also showcased her talent in dance theaters in New York, Amsterdam, and beyond. She is the first Turkish dancer to pass the pre-selection and battle at the renowned "Ladies of Hip-Hop" in New York. Additionally, she is one of only two Turkish dancers to perform on the stage of the Alvin Ailey Theater. A pioneer in the dance scene, Ezgilu made history by teaching the first Dancehall classes in Bali and Cuba. In Berlin, she has broken new ground by combining traditional Turkish dances like the Roman Havası and Damat Halayı with hip-hop and dancehall, creating innovative performances. She is also one of the two founders of Dancehall Turkey.
Holistic Healing and Approach
Ezgilu uses dance not just as an art form but as a tool for healing. Her holistic method, Space Playground, integrates dance, mindfulness, and yoga practices to help individuals reconnect with their bodies and experience emotional healing. Through this approach, Ezgilu guides people to express themselves through movement, find inner peace, and achieve spiritual balance, turning dance into a transformative process that goes beyond the physical body.
Social Responsibility and Teaching
Ezgilu has contributed to numerous social responsibility projects in Berlin, working as a choreographer for various initiatives. She has also taught at prestigious dance schools like Flying Steps and offered dance and yoga training at renowned institutions such as Yoga Barn and Universal Dance Academy in Bali.
